Time has stopped at the aptly named Maisonseule
A fabulous journey through time at the Château de Maisonseule. You feel drawn into the history of the place, into its vast walls steeped in history. It's possible to walk around the château a hundred times without ever seeing the same scene twice. The team welcomes you with great attention. We felt like we were arriving at a friend's house while remaining discreet. The heated pool is very pleasant, and numerous nooks and crannies in the grounds allow for complete disconnection. There's no noise except that of the wind in the branches and the birds—a true delight. We recommend the table d'hôte, which transports you to the Middle Ages, with fascinating historical stories, a beautiful 17th-century table, candlelight, silverware, and a delicious menu prepared with local products by the vibrant chef Benjamin. They were kind enough to show us around the other rooms of the château. If walls could talk... We stayed in a beautiful room with authentic character, very comfortable bedding, and an unusual bathroom. Bravo to Yves Lecoq, owner of the place, for doing good for the heritage, bravo to this friendly team for doing good for their guests.

This is a place steeped in history
This is a place steeped in history, romantic, and timeless. Exceptional and peaceful. This castle is a must-see... We greatly appreciated the staff who took great care of us, always smiling and welcoming, a staff with a sense of hospitality who never hesitated to make themselves available to answer our requests and do their utmost to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The manager is passionate, who devotes all his love to managing the castle and welcoming his guests. For example, among many others, he provided free bicycles for us to explore, and he himself created routes for us to explore the property. We were charmed by all of this. The only downside for us was the meal; indeed, €58 excluding drinks (water, coffee, or herbal tea) is a bit excessive, given that the cost of these drinks is just as excessive. The aperitif is also not included. €12 per person, which includes a glass of wine with a few slices of sausage, olives, pot-cooked chips, and a melon and ham skewer. It was tasty but excessive. Especially since we thought it was included in the €58 price when we were told "we'll be waiting for you at 7:30 p.m. for an aperitif." I think, to avoid any unpleasant surprises, I should clarify to guests what is and isn't included. Despite this small detail, we recommend going there with your eyes closed and letting the staff guide you. We ourselves have already planned to return this winter.

The castle is massive
The castle is massive and magnificent. It accommodates a few couples with very kind hosts, even though they seem to be employees of the owner, who is none other than Yves Lecoq. The evening meal offered is not worth the €56 asking price: it consists of rustic recipes offered without a menu choice, even though guests are asked if there are any items they don't like. In short, a price of less than €30 would be more realistic. As for the comfort of our room, it is basic but tasteful, and sleeping in a real castle is priceless (but costly!)

The dream and a guaranteed letting go
Magnificent 13th-century castle, beautifully restored and maintained, overlooking the valley with 360-degree views. A magnificent room, tastefully furnished and decorated. A royal bathroom and toilet. Top-notch bedding. It's been a long time since we spent a night in absolute peace and quiet.

Fabulous stay in a magnificent setting
We had a fabulous stay in this medieval castle, in perfect condition and beautifully decorated. A comfortable room with an incredible bathroom in a former dovecote, spotlessly clean. A warm and friendly welcome made this stay exceptional. We recommend it without hesitation.

Authentic parenthesis
The setting is enchanting, the castle's authenticity has been preserved and combined with modern, even luxurious comfort. The welcome is impeccable, and the kindness and passion are the highlight of this dream stay. Unforgettable moments of sharing in a splendid setting steeped in history and passion.
