We are Helen & Noel, a married couple living in Braintree. We met online in 2002, back in the days of freeserve chat rooms and good old dial-up. We spent a couple of months talking online and then Noel travelled from Macclesfield down to Essex to meet face to face for my birthday weekend in The November. We hit it off straight away and quickly realised our shared passion for photography. I travelled to Macclesfield to spend Christmas with Noel, it was so hard leaving on Boxing Day, but I had to be back at work the next day in Braintree. Noel travelled to Essex again for New Year and made the move to Braintree in January. He proposed on Valentine’s Day and a year to the day when he first visited we got married. It was a wonderful day, filled with fantastic memories. We still look at our wedding photos and reminisce. Over the years we developed our skills mostly with wildlife and the occasional wedding or celebration for friends and family and realised we loved it ! There is nothing like the buzz of sharing and capturing the love on a wedding day. In 2016 we took the plunge, setting up H N Photography.Uk and photographed our first paid wedding. We have never looked back. Our wedding day was wonderful, but after several years of photography we have come to realise, if we could do it again, we would change a lot of things. We are not just photographers and turn our hand to many things on a wedding day, whether helping with ties or cravats, pinning on buttonholes or running minor emergency repairs to attire and accessories. We only met our photographer once before the day and although he did a great job we did not feel we knew him and were not completely at ease when being photographed. We have found that having several meetings with our couples, they are much more relaxed on the day and feel they can approach us for anything. Many of our couples have told us it is more like having friends at their wedding, not just being a hired photographer.
