As every wedding is so different, I am very flexible when it comes to the plan of the day, but in general I usually arrive with the bride 2 hours before the ceremony begins to capture some photographs of the bridal preparations. If you would prefer me to head straight to the ceremony venue instead that is no problem at all. I am normally allowed to photograph the key moments of the ceremony, and then after the service I usually take some group photos either at the ceremony venue or at the reception venue. I find that a wedding naturally lends itself to different styles of photography; there are times when I will use a photojournalistic style to capture hugs and tears and proud smiles, and then there are certain shots, such as the signing of the register, throwing the confetti and cutting the cake etc which, although traditional shots, I like to capture as naturally as possible. At some point in the day I usually like to take the bride and groom away from the crowd, just for 10 minutes or so, to get some couples shots, and I also photograph the speeches. Throughout the day I will be capturing your celebrations using a natural, reportage style, so that you will be able to relax with your guests and enjoy yourselves. The responsibility is on me to create the images that I am looking for, so for most of the day you won’t really know that I am there, and when you do I work very efficiently so tht you can continue enjoying your celebrations without disruption. I stay until the wedding breakfast is over, and then I take the bride and groom for some more couples shots before I head home. I do not need to stay until the first dance as I will have already captured the best part of the day, with the best light and therefore the best photographs. If, however, you would really like me to photograph the first dance, I do offer this coverage as an optional extra.
