A photo that makes you feel something is priceless. I used to be an opera singer and spent years not only singing but creating roles that were full of emotion. Opera isn’t just about going to hear some nice singing. It’s about feeling something intense, it’s about the electricity stirred up within you when the orchestra plays and the drama unfolds. It was my job as the singer to study the relationships between characters so that I could convey their connections to the audience and leave them feeling like they had been right there in the middle of it all. It is exactly those emotions, relationships and connections that I want to photograph - that is what makes a photo great in my eyes.
