It doesn’t matter if you’re getting married in a grand stately home, a cinema or your own kitchen - I believe everyone can have beautiful natural wedding photos. It just needs the right person behind the camera. Hello, I'm Simon a reportage / documentary wedding photographer based in Derby and I think weddings rock. They're just stories on top of stories on top of stories. So many beautiful pictures to take of people deeply in love and the family histories around them. My job is trying to nail that exact moment where everything falls together perfectly. Moments and emotions. Selected and curated and presented in the most beautiful way possible. I don't want to be making cheesy, awkward photos or getting you and your guests to stand round for hours on parade. The best photos happen by just being in the moment and letting things happen. Simon’s photos are amazing! He captures moments and emotions perfectly, and did an amazing job working in minimal light in our cinema venue. We wanted candid photography with a minimum of posed shots - Simon shoots so fast and is so unobtrusive that I have no idea how he got some of our photos! His use of colour and light is wonderful and was perfect for capturing the memories of our day.

Beautifully Quirky

Given our budget, we were reluctant to spend on a photographer, but we also knew we would regret it if we didn't have a good set of photos. Simon was a recommendation from another guy that we approached. We had a shortlist of two, but his style of photos swung it in the end. We wanted natural photos, not posed stiff ones, and Simon's portfolio looked beautifully quirky. I can't tell you how glad we are that we chose him. He was worth every penny and more. Neither of us expected such an array of beautiful photo, it's impossible to choose our favourites, there are just so many! He is a nice, professional guy and clearly loves what he does - it was great to see how he enjoyed taking photos of our day.Not only has he captured every moment, he's captured every feeling. Every time I look at our photos I smile. They are perfect.

Simon took the most wonderful pictures of our wedding. The photos individually were exquisite but taken together they really told the story of the day. I can't get over how well Simon managed to do this. When we look at the photos it truly takes us right back to our beautiful wedding. I'm really glad we asked Simon to be our wedding photographer.

Simon is just magical

Simon is just magical, he captured our wedding day just how we wanted and the photos he has taken are outstanding. My husband and I are not the best in front of a camera but Simon made us feel at ease and comfortable in our day! We wanted someone to tell a story of our wedding, not spend hours smiling in front of a camera.
