If you are looking for an alternative to a standard religious or statutory civil ceremony then hiring an Independent Celebrant is the perfect choice. Like Humanists, we create moving and beautiful wedding ceremonies which are personalised to each couple we work with. However we are also able to include spiritual content so if you are an inter-faith couple you may incorporate the rituals of one or more of your cultures or backgrounds as part of your ceremony. Celebrant-led Weddings are also a perfect option for couples who have had a destination wedding abroad and wish to hold a Blessing amongst extended family and friends on their return. Most couples simply wish to hold a personalised Wedding Ceremony amongst friends and family in a place that is not a traditional wedding venue or perhaps isn't licenced for marriage. They may choose to exchange their vows outdoors at the family home, on a beach, in woodland or a barn. Many couples now book a whole weekend to celebrate their wedding, often 'festival-style' with tents, marquees or tipis and friends camping. The civil marriage registration is taken care of in a separate brief appointment, splitting the legal and ceremonial side of the wedding - much as happens across Europe.
