We cannot thank the team at Houstoun House for the incredible day they put together for us. Charlotte, Andrew and the rest of the team were beyond amazing. All of our guests have raved about how good the food was, people have even said it was the best meal they've ever had at a wedding! We cannot recommend the venue enough!

We can not compliment Charlotte and her team enough for making our day so special and run so smoothly! From the outset, Charlotte has been approachable and accommodating. She helped us along the way with making the day! We would highly recommend Houstoun House to any newly engaged couple looking for a classic Scottish location with great scenery and such a great team. The menu options were great and the food was fabulous on the day!

We had the most wonderful, intimate, happy family day at Houston house. As we are an older couple we wanted something small, there were 24 of us, and very informal. Charlotte was absolutely wonderful! She understood completely what we wanted and went above and beyond to make sure every wish was catered for. The Strathbrock suite was sectioned into three giving us a perfect sized are for our small ceremony. A reception are for canapés and fizz and the third area was just beautiful with our table set with candelabra for our meal. The food was exceptional as were the staff. From the start of booking the wedding date upto and during the day itself, Caroline and the team were thoroughly professional, looked after us in everyway, no matter what we wanted or requested they never failed to deliver with no fuss or drama which made our day run smoothly without any issues. Caroline in particular made us feel welcome and added little personal touches which made us feel that she really appreciated our business. When we were looking at other hotel's they were decent enough but never matched the enthusiasm that Caroline showed which is why we went with the McDonald Houston House Hotel. We used one of the recommend suppliers Beautifuly covered and were blown away by their presentation accompanied by the work of the hotel staff the main hall which looked Fabulous at all times. The drive upto the hotel is stunning and the hotel itself is well presented with large grounds which we used for our photos even in mid autumn it looked great. I would thoroughly recommend Caroline and her team for anyone considering getting marrried in the west Lothian area. We loved it.

From start to finish our wedding here was magical! The planning was made so easy because Caroline is so on the ball with everything. She gave the best advice and made sure every detail was adhered to so that the day went so smoothly. She is honestly amazing! Houstoun is a stunning venue but the team make it even better. Everyone that played a part in our day made it fantastic. I can’t thank you all enough!! We left our decor the night before and the team just made it happen! They understood the vision and it looked stunning!! I would recommend this venue to everyone. We had a small day ceremony and a large evening reception. There were so many choices of rooms/areas to host each part, it really does cater to every need. The food was an important part for us. As we didn’t really want the “typical” wedding meal. Well, let me just say it was amaaaaazing! We were able to adapt our menu to exactly what we wanted and the food was delicious. Every guest commented to say it was the best wedding food they have had! Not to fancy for our fussy families, simplicity done well! If you want stress free wedding planning, with a team that will go above and beyond to make sure your day is perfect then look no further. Team Houstoun you smashed it!! I just want to do it all over again!!

Our wedding was perfect and this was all down to Caroline and the staff. The venue itself was what drew us to want to get married there. The building and surroundings are just beautiful. As we began to lais with Caroline it was clear she was fantastic at her job. She is enthusiastic, full of ideas and nothing is a problem. Her calm nature really helped us to stay calm whilst trying to organise everything. Then there was the food. OMG the food was amazing. All our guests commented on how delicious the food was. I was actually dreaming about the food on the lead up to the wedding. Couldn't wait for dinner. We also stayed the night before the wedding as well as the night off. Every single staff member was amazing. Friendly, polite and like Caroline, nothing was a problem. They all made us feel special and really looked after us all. If your after a stress free wedding in a breathing taking location then Macdonald Houston House is for you.
