Perfect Autumn Wedding in the perfect location.
I have been meaning to write this review for a while and although life takes over, this wonderful venue and Hazel deserve the 5* rating and review I am about to leave.
My husband and I were married at New House Farm on 2nd November, 2019. I found out about this venue after a friend attended a wedding here in 2016. When we did start to look at venues after getting engaged, we fell in love with New House Farm and didn't bother looking any further.
Hazel who owns New House Farm, was amazing from start to finish. She was more than welcoming whenever we wanted to come and see the venue, size things up and speak to her about potential companies to source for catering, entertainment etc. This instantly put me at ease, as although I am from the Lake District, I am now living in Cheshire and planning a wedding when you live in a different County can be a little daunting at times.
What made this venue more appealing to us was that the Hayloft where you hold your ceremony and reception can be made to look exactly as you want. It certainly isn't a conference room that you need to dress up, and that was exactly what I wanted to avoid. So many people commented on how beautiful the venue was and how much they loved the location. It really is a gorgeous place to get married. You can't deny the backdrop is amazing here for your wedding photos and with Buttermere lake only a 5 minutes drive away, you have so many options for stunning photos.
A few days before the wedding we were given the Hayloft to start our wedding preparations. This really helps as some of the companies you hire will come in and start setting up early for you. It also gave us the chance to do some of the decorations ourselves and it gives you a really good idea what your venue will look like on the big day. The night before, I chose to stay in the Farm House with my bridesmaids. This was such a lovely setting to be in the night before the wedding and use of the hot tub was the perfect addition.
On the day of the wedding itself, Hazel was there to answer any last minute questions, deal with all of the companies coming in to set up and generally look after the wedding party and a cooked breakfast on the day was certainly a welcomed addition. The day went so smoothly and I cannot thank Hazel enough for that. She will make sure every bride and groom feel completely in control and at ease on their big day.
In summary, if anyone is thinking of staying here for a break away or booking the venue for a wedding. Please do not hesitate! The venue is stunning, the scenery is amazing, the farm house is cosy and welcoming and Hazel is just fantastic. I know every bride will say this but i genuinely wish we could do our day all over again at this fantastic venue.
