The Manor House

So, the moment came when we made the decision to postpone our wedding. There were quite a few tears, and the feeling of utter disappointment as the government confirmed weddings could not take place. We’ve been engaged since Sept 2018, and were due to get married on the 20th June 2020. So much preparation had gone into planning our wedding, The Manor House is where we got engaged and it is our dream venue. We were getting more and more excited as our day approached, only to have it taken away from us much like many other couples across the globe. But postponing our wedding has been a positive experience, The Manor House (Gemma Smith our Wedding Manager) kept us up-to-date on the hotel’s situation and managed to book our new date next year with no issues. All of the suppliers that the hotel recommended were amazing, completely understanding and amended their contracts to accommodate us. Weddings by Nicola & Glen / Mr & Mrs Productions / Fluffy Puffin / Cahoots / The Fairy Cakery / Makeup by Becky Flynn worked closely with us to switch to our new date seamlessly and to our absolute relief. We had amazing support from our family and friends who were nothing but sympathetic and supportive. My partner was my rock and going through this has only made me want to marry him more. We celebrated re-arranging our date with a bottle of Champagne we had been saving for our wedding. The silver lining of this whole situation is when we are all able to celebrate next year, our day will be even more special. Nothing was more important to us than having our friends and family happy and healthy. Another silver lining is I have another year to lose some weight for my dress! #LoveIsNotCancelled #PostponeDontCancel

Where do we even start!! The beauty of the Venue and grounds speak for themselves! I challenge anyone to not fall in love with the quaint cobbled Village of Castle Combe from the moment you step foot into it, let alone The 'Magical' Manor House! We just want to say the biggest heartfelt thank you to all of the team at the Manor House. Jo and Gemma, the support and advice you gave from start to finish was amazing and made everything so much easier on the day! (even with all my questions ;p). Fab ladies, couldn't have done it without you! Andrew, Alex and your team - you were all unbelievable with the service you gave to us and all the family/friends. Our day was more perfect than we could have ever imagined and you all played such a huge part in making that happen. There was nothing that was too much effort. We have received nothing but compliments on how wonderful the staff were. The service was seamless! Also please can you extend our thanks and compliments to the Chef (Rob) and his team! The food was INSANE! The number of guests who came up to us to say the food was the best they have ever had at a wedding (or ever). So much love for the Manor House - such a special place! We will be seeing you again on our 1 year anniversary (and hopefully every year that follows!) Can't wait! The Balding's xxx

Our wedding at The Manor House went beyond our wildest dreams. It was the storybook wedding we had hoped for made only better by the amazing staff, the beautiful grounds and the elegant grandeur of the buildings. Coming from the USA and having never visited the location before was an internet gamble that paid off big time. We were constantly put at ease by the open communication with wedding coordinator Gemma Smith and the staff. They were always available and helpful beyond belief. It made the planning our wedding easy and all the recommended vendors they suggested were top notch. When the day came, everything went off without a hitch. We were taken care of and treated like royalty. We had multiple guests pull us aside saying that this venue, the village of Castle Combe and the magic of the day made it simply the best wedding they have ever attended. We could not recommend a better spot for a wedding in the English countryside!

The wedding was an amazing day and I have been in touch with Gemma already to thank her for all of her hard work before and during the day. Your staff were brilliant and everyone had a marvellous day. There were four staff who appeared to be there all day and they were particularly helpful and went out of their way to ensure that everything was taken care off during the day. However, every member of your staff played their part.

We got married here in September 2015, what an wonderful time we all had, from the very first meeting with Emma to discuss the details, the whole process of a wedding for over 100 people from all over Europe attending, was easy, efficient, professional and dealt with kindness and consideration. Every one of my guests were catered for and their needs looked after, little thoughtful touches to make every person feel special, from a member of staff lending cufflinks to posting a gift to my father in law two weeks after the wedding day! The staff went above and beyond to make our day the best ever, I can not fault anything, they should all feel very proud. The location of this beautiful building is outstanding and the feeling from the moment you walk through the door is one of calm, cosy and delight, always made to feel welcome, The quality of the food was amazing, from start to finish, including breakfast on the Sunday morning for 33 people, with lots of food provided. I so want to thank all at The Manor House for an unforgettable time had by all, you have got this so right!
