The Salix Yurts Full Description

The Salix Yurts are two semi-permanent Yurts in a perfect location on the outskirts of York. Catering for weddings of up to 96 day guests and 140 night time guests. The Salix Yurts offer a perfect, yet affordable Yurt wedding. The Salix Yurts are located on beautiful parkland with farm animals and a lake, which makes a perfect area for an outdoor blessing, nearby. The Yurts are fully decorated including tables, seating, ornate chandeliers a reception area, bar and electric fires.. We have an extensive list of recommended suppliers for everything else, including an excellent on-site caterer. Venue hire is for three days leaving time to add the perfect personal touches to your wedding. Those coming from further afield can utilise the fantastic and quirky on site glamping pods, yurt as well as camping and caravan sites. The bar is licensed until midnight with amplified music permitted until midnight. The site has electricity, water, toilets and plenty of parking available and is within easy access of York with its numerous hotels and tourist attractions.

Most Incredible Venue

We had our wedding at The Salix Yurts and it was just the most incredible venue. Thank you so much to James, Lee and all the rest of the wonderful Louisiana's gang! They were extremely accomodating and helpful, even when we threw in some wildcards like "is it ok if we have archery?" (went down an absolute storm with all of the guests and thankfully nobody died). Honestly just can't big these guys up enough, wonderful people who just couldn't do enough to ensure that we had the best day. All of the love, Dan and Sarah x

Amazing Wedding Planning Team

What an amazing wedding planning team! James and Lee supported us right through our planning and lead up to our wedding and nothing was too much trouble. Our wedding at the Salix Yurts couldn't have more like we had dreamt of and a big part of this was down to these guys! James your support on Friday getting the wedding venue sorted really was amazing and you went the extra mile to get / do what ever we needed! On Saturday, the day of our wedding, James made sure all my requests to turn on lights, put flowers on tables outside etc were done and I had compete trust I would arrive at our reception and he would have everything in check, I was so right, he was stood smiling with our arrival drinks and he and the bar team (Lousianna mobile bars) continued to support us all day and night. Truly Amazing! Thank you xxxx

Could Not Have Hoped For a Better Venue

Me and my wife Charlotte had our wedding at the Salix Yurts last week and could not have hoped for a better venue. Although we opted for a more DIY kind of do, Lee, James and the team went above and beyond to help us make it happen. Despite the terrible weather they made it a night to remember and our guests had nothing but nice things to say about the venue and team. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a wedding venue that is a little bit different but still is very convenient. 10/10

Whole Team were Incredibly Professional

Lee and his team at Louisianna's did an absolutely amazing job for our wedding in April 2018 at the Salix Yurts in York. During the planning stages Lee was really helpful, always at the end of the phone as and when needed him, and you could see he is really passionate about his company and wanting to make our wedding a real success. On the day itself, the whole team were incredibly professional, the personalised cocktail menu and bar service was really great. A big hit with pretty much everyone was the Gin Tin, loads of lovely drinks to be had, very thoughtfully put together. We heartily recommend Louisianna's!!

Harry Potter Theme

Just had my daughter's wedding at the salix yurts, wow. The whole day was fantastic.she had a Harry Potter theme and the setting was perfect. Lee, Jenna and Nicola were brilliant and a big thank you to all the other staff that made the day so special. The gin tin was great with the bar tender (sorry forgot his name) having so much knowledge and so pleasant. Would fully reccomend anyone one having their special day here. Many many thanks.
